How Does Music Influence Your Kids

It is unclear how music affects the individual. Some experts assert that the music and musicians affect young people. Other sources insist that certain people respond to certain types of music and musical expression. Either way, today’s youth can see how their favorite musicians to dress and behave, both in public and in private, through multiple media sources continue to monitor the celebrity world. Young people can then choose to alter their own appearance and behavior to reflect the musicians and musical styles they most identify with.

Two separate, but related, theories explain how individuals connect with and express themselves through music. Social identity theory indicates that people “borrow” their identity within the community where they live. Individuals to adopt a group identity through music is a way for that person in accordance with the ideals, goals, and norms of society as a whole. Contrary to social identity theory says that some people choose to behave contrary to societal norms. These people prefer to adopt their own style and separate from others. This is called a theory of personal identity. Theories are interrelated because, although the theory of personal identity to identify the individual aspects of expression, people still identify as part of a group-sub.

Young people are more likely to subscribe to various forms of identification through music, especially the forms which I do not fit with the broader community. As young people move during the teenage years and into young adulthood, they are more inclined to explore and experiment with their own identity through music than older adults, who may sit in one genre that they recognize. See the music in this way makes it easier to see how it was always, and remains, an agent of socialization, a way for young people to explore their independence as they move away from the power of their parents.

This perspective may hide the musical influence that music has on children. Music from the last century have played an important role in the lives of young adults, but the music may be having the effect of extending the younger individuals. Remember the music that has always been an important part of every society. Children are socialized through their songs with a lot on age. children’s songs can be as simple as a song that teaches the basic information, such as ABC and 123, and they can teach social skills and behavior that is acceptable (think Sesame Street and Barney). However, children have access to the same music that young adults have access to, and sometimes the music is not in accordance with age. This phenomenon has been bringing in the debate about whether or not exposure to a particular musical influences have an adverse effect on the nation’s youth.

Interestingly, a study has found that women are more likely to be influenced by the music than men, although both sexes find expression through music is satisfactory. This may be because women are usually socialized as members of a community group and men are usually encouraged to be independent. the study authors believe that the process of socialization makes women more susceptible to the influence of music from the men.
