3 Tips to Make New Mom Friends

Trying to make friends as a mom may be seem hard, but if you know what you’re doing, it’s not that hard after all! No matter what age you are, there are so many things that you can do to make some friends as a mom. If you’re having a hard time doing so, here are some tips you can use in order to make friends as fast as next week:

#1 What you Have in Common

First off, find out what you’re going to have in common with other people. Do you like to ride your bike? Do you like to take walks at night? Whatever it may be, you’re going to want to find someone else that is compatible with you. Remember, it also doesn’t hurt to find a mom that has a few children that are close to your child’s age. So for example, if your child is 8 years old, try to find another mom with a child that is around that age. If you don’t, they probably won’t get along.

Well now, you’re probably wondering how you can find these mom friends. It can be done in many different ways. This can include meeting at the library, joining meet up groups online or even looking for group meetings in your local paper. Trust me; there are thousands of ways to meet new people. You just have to get up and find those people!

#2 Create a Schedule

If you want to meet a mom for the first time, don’t bring your kids just yet. Instead, what you’re going to want to do is create a schedule. Meet with that mom and see what they can do for you. Meet up for coffee, a lunch or walk in the park. Get to know this person so that you can feel comfortable bringing your child along. As long as you make an effort, you will find that your relationship can grow faster by the day.

#3 No Gossip

When you’re ready to meet with your mom friends, leave the gossip at home. This is just going to cause stress and other problems. No matter how old they are, try to talk about other things and not about other people behind their back. This will not only stress people out, but they may think differently of you. Talk about your children and remember to ask questions about their lives. It shouldn’t be everything about you.

Meeting new friends is a great way to move away from the house and even let your children have fun. No matter what you’re going to do, just remember to have fun and not stress out too much. By doing so, you’re bound to have a great time and meet great friends.
