Start Your Own Club to Knit Baby Clothes

All men are now knitting and crochet clubs sprung up in towns and cities across America. Some groups together to learn new techniques, some gathered only to compare the patterns, some met to work on projects for charitable donations, but they all have the same three things. They all have a love of knitting and they love to get together with other knitters and talk about …. good … knitting! Here are three tips to help you start your own club to knit baby clothes.

It’s all about location – you must choose a meeting place where easy to find a large number of seats for your group. Environmental restaurant or meeting room at the bowling alley or maybe your church has a meeting room they will let you use. You want to go somewhere where they will not object if you just sit back and sip on a cup of coffee all night and the waiter would not mind if you take a few tables for several hours. If you are in big cities make sure you choose a place which is located in the city center and near public transportation.

Some clubs also want to go home each and that will depend on the size of your group and once again, centralized location. However, you also have to consider that something could come up with your host during the week and there go your appointment. Plus, newcomers will feel more comfortable all meeting at a neutral place until they feel comfortable with your group.

Members get – Let everyone know about your group by sending an email to all your friends and family members. Post notices at local craft and yarn shop, tell the person you go to church and school, people you work with, and even post a notice on the bulletin board forum and your line like MySpace and Facebook pages. The more festive! Once you get some members lined up that word will spread quickly and you’ll be glad you chose that restaurant or meeting room instead of your own home.

Meet consistent – No matter what night you choose or how much notice you give every person there will always be someone who can not attend for some reason. But they will be back next week so do not drive yourself nuts trying to make everyone happy. Choose and night and stick. Many groups like to start their meeting at 7 to allow time for people to go home from work and relax for a few minutes. And then the knitting begin! Knitting club started to organize your own day and you’ll have a pile of knitting baby clothes before you know it!
